GrantTap legal and support

Licenses and notices

Last updated: October 18, 2026

GrantTap apps, desktop, relay, website, and MCP 0.8.76 onward are commercial software. Public source access does not make them open source. MCP releases through 0.8.75 retain their Apache License 2.0 permissions.

GrantTap apps

Copyright © 2026 Serhii Ziborov. All rights reserved. The iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch app uses the applicable App Store end-user license. App Store apps use Apple's Standard EULA unless a custom EULA is displayed there. The Mac license additionally grants personal/internal use of your own GrantTap relay. A purchased Mac license includes personal/internal own-relay use without a Personal subscription. The publicly readable first-party app source is governed by the GrantTap Commercial Source License.

Relay and website source

Current first-party source versions are under the GrantTap Commercial Source License. Copies of earlier versions validly released under MIT retain their original MIT permissions; the change does not revoke them.

  • TweetNacl SwiftWrap — MIT
  • tweetnacl-js — Unlicense
  • Model Context Protocol SDK — MIT
  • ws — MIT
  • Zod — MIT
  • React and Next.js — MIT
  • Weavatrix Rust graph and repository crates in the separate Engine — MIT where identified by their package licenses
  • Cortex Context in the separate Engine — MIT OR Apache-2.0
  • Cloudflare Workers tooling — applicable open-source licenses

Related engineering projects

Cortex Loom contains both dual-licensed public crates and reserved-rights components; its unpublished cortex-weavatrix adapter is not covered by the public crate licenses. Weavatrix Loom is a separate dual-licensed MIT OR Apache-2.0 project, not a bundled GrantTap component. Their own repositories define the scope of each grant.

Trademarks

Apple, Apple Watch, iPhone, and App Store are trademarks of Apple Inc. Claude and Claude Code are trademarks of Anthropic. OpenAI and Codex are trademarks of OpenAI. Cursor belongs to Anysphere. Grok and xAI belong to xAI. All other names belong to their respective owners.

Included Mac renderer

The first-party Repo Lens Cyberboard renderer, revision 79cd18b9e58ce759226020827ee9d78ee881e05d, is incorporated under the GrantTap commercial source and app end-user terms. Its separate Three.js r160 dependency retains MIT. No open-source license is claimed for the reserved-rights renderer.

GrantTap Commercial Source License 1.0

This source-code license is separate from the purchased App Store application license. Original English legal text follows.

GrantTap Commercial Source License 1.0 Effective September 28, 2026 Clarified October 18, 2026 Copyright (c) 2026 Serhii Ziborov. All rights reserved. This license covers the first-party source code, documentation, and original assets distributed with it in this repository (the "Software"). It is a source-available commercial license, not an open-source license. Third-party components and materials retain their own licenses and notices. 1. Evaluation grant. You may access, copy, build, run, and privately modify the Software solely to evaluate, test, and audit it for your own use. This grant does not permit production use, providing a service to others, or distributing the Software or a modified version. Keep copyright and license notices in every evaluation copy. 2. Commercial use. Production use and distribution require a separate written commercial agreement or an applicable end-user license issued by the copyright holder. An App Store purchase is governed by the applicable App Store license; the directly distributed macOS app has its own Desktop end-user license. A purchase or subscription does not license this source code unless its written terms expressly say so. A purchased Mac app is additionally governed by apps/macos/DESKTOP_EULA.md. The app license includes the personal/internal own-relay grant described there; this does not grant redistribution of first-party app source or binaries. 3. Restrictions. Except where applicable law expressly permits otherwise, you may not publish, sell, sublicense, redistribute, or make the Software available to third parties; use it to operate a hosted service; remove legal notices; or circumvent a license or security control. No trademark rights are granted. 4. Ownership and data. The copyright holder retains all rights in the Software not expressly granted here. You retain your rights in your own projects, code, prompts, records, and other data processed with the Software. This license does not grant access to any Project, device, account, or third-party service. 5. Duration. The evaluation grant lasts until you stop using the Software or materially breach these terms. On termination, stop using and distributing any evaluation copies. A separate paid end-user license controls the duration of paid use and is not cancelled merely because this source license changes. 6. Warranty and liability. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, evaluation copies are provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. The copyright holder is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from evaluation use. This section does not limit non-waivable consumer rights or liability that applicable law does not allow to be limited. 7. Earlier licenses. A copy validly received under a different license remains subject to that license. This version does not withdraw permissions previously granted for those copies. GrantTap MCP has its own license in its repository; MCP versions through 0.8.75 retain their original Apache License 2.0 grants. For a commercial source license, contact sergii.ziborov@gmail.com.

GrantTap MCP Commercial Source License

GrantTap Commercial Source License 1.0 — MCP edition Effective October 18, 2026 Copyright (c) 2026 Serhii Ziborov. All rights reserved. This license covers the first-party GrantTap MCP runtime, CLI, bundled plugins, documentation and original assets distributed with this license (the Software). It is a source-available commercial license, not an open-source license. Third-party components retain their own licenses and notices. 1. Authorized Access Authorized Access means an active paid GrantTap subscription, its eligible official trial, verified official TestFlight access, an applicable purchased GrantTap Desktop license under its purchase terms, or a separate written commercial agreement with GrantTap. Access is subject to the account, device allowance, duration and scope of that grant. Provider subscriptions and model charges are separate and are not supplied by this license. 2. Source inspection You may download, inspect and privately modify the source to evaluate it, perform security review, or prepare a contribution to the official repository. Keep copyright and license notices. This permission does not grant production use, redistribution, publication of independently usable distributions, or operation of a service for other people. 3. Authorized product use During Authorized Access you may install and execute the authorized GrantTap MCP version on devices you own or control, solely with the official GrantTap product and within your grant. This right is limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and non-sublicensable. A perpetual Desktop purchase retains the scope and duration in its purchase terms. Production source modifications or additional distribution rights require a separate written agreement. 4. Restrictions and ownership Unless expressly permitted by a separate agreement or applicable law, you may not sell, sublicense, redistribute or publish this Software or derivative works; provide them as a hosted or managed service; bypass account, subscription or access controls; or remove copyright, license or proprietary notices. GrantTap retains rights in its Software. No trademark rights are granted. You retain your rights in your projects, code, prompts and other processed data. 5. Third-party and earlier releases Third-party licenses and notices remain effective and are not restricted by this license. See THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md and THIRD_PARTY_LICENSES.txt. Copies of GrantTap MCP validly received under Apache License 2.0, including published versions through 0.8.75, retain their original license and permissions. This license does not retroactively withdraw those grants. The historical Apache text is retained in LICENSE-APACHE-2.0.txt; its presence does not license the new first-party Software under Apache License 2.0. 6. Duration and termination Term-limited execution rights end when Authorized Access expires or is revoked. A material breach terminates rights under this license. Stop using copies that you are no longer authorized to execute, except for permitted source inspection or rights retained under an earlier or separate license. Non-waivable statutory rights and the terms of a valid perpetual purchase remain intact. 7. Warranty and liability To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law the Software is provided AS IS and AS AVAILABLE, without warranties of any kind. GrantTap is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the Software. Nothing here excludes rights or liability that applicable law does not allow to be excluded.
